De-Pesticide Your Fruit & Veg

Beautiful locally grown cleaned cherries, strawberries and cherry tomatoes!.

I have a bit of a ritual when I get home from shopping for my fruit and vegetables. I fill the sink with water and add in a good healthy glugg of apple cider vinegar and soak the fruit and veg for at least 10 minutes with a couple of stirs. I then put them in colanders give them a quick rinse and let them air dry before storing them accordingly. It always amazes me how dirty the water is after, particularly an oily film even if they are organic. Why I hear you ask!.

Well, apple cider vinegar is the most amazing thing I’ve discovered over the last year – for many reasons, which one day I’ll blog about! It cleans off any pesticide / oil residue from being handled by other people from the farm to shop. It also helps keep the fruit and veg last longer and this really is true!.

Do you do this? If not give it a go and let me know how you get on!!
