This week’s episode is all about estrogen! This is probably the hormone that you are most familiar with because it both plays such an important role for fertility, but also I am sure you have heard also makes Endometriosis worse. There is a lot you can do to balance your hormones, and there are definitely things you can do to decrease your estrogen if you have an excess or estrogen dominance, which will mean you are feeding those Endometrial lesions, and causing yourself lots of pain.
So, if you want to reduce that pain – I hear you say YES DEFINITELY, and improve your womb lining, which is imperative so that an embryo can embed and develop into your baby – I hear another YES!.
Many people focus on progesterone when it comes to fertility, as we know that women with Endometriosis do not have enough and it is essential to maintain that womb lining in order to sustain a pregnancy, but the first way to improve your progesterone, is to balance your estrogen, and it is this hormone that is so important both to kickstart ovulation but also in the development of a good quality womb or uterine lining. I will be talking about progesterone more in the next episode.
Here are some of the episode highlights:
- What estrogen is and why it is important,
- The major forms are found in our bodies,
- What estrogen dominance actually is compared to an excess estrogen,
- The symptoms and implications for endometriosis and fertility of high and low estrogen,
- Why estrogen might be high or low,
- The best ways to understand and test your estrogen levels, and
- The ways you can balance your estrogen out depending on if it is high or low.
It is jam-packed with recommendations for you to look into further, some of it you may know and some you may not! Enjoy listening as always!
