Exploring holistic approaches to support your fertility journey
Navigating the fertility journey can be challenging, especially when dealing with conditions like Endometriosis. In this podcast episode, Lizzie delves into three alternative therapies that she has tried that offer holistic support and can complement traditional treatments. These therapies not only aid in managing symptoms but also enhance overall reproductive health.
Acupuncture
First on the list is acupuncture, an ancient Eastern practice known for stimulating energy flow and improving health. For women with Endometriosis, acupuncture can enhance blood flow to reproductive organs, regulate hormones, and reduce stress. The key takeaway is to find an acupuncturist who understands your needs and makes you feel comfortable.
Colonic Irrigation
Next, Lizzie explores colonic irrigation, a therapy that flushes the colon with water to remove waste and toxins. This can be particularly beneficial for improving gut health, which is crucial for overall wellness and fertility. The episode discusses the importance of seeking a certified practitioner and the potential benefits of incorporating probiotics and a healthy diet.
Mayan abdominal massage
Mayan abdominal massage is the third therapy highlighted in the episode. This massage technique focuses on aligning the uterus and improving blood flow to the pelvic area. It can relieve pain and promote fertility by ensuring the uterus is in the correct position. The episode provides actionable tips on finding a trained practitioner or learning self-massage techniques.
The podcast also touches on the benefits of coffee enemas and their role in supporting liver detoxification. This simple at-home practice can significantly reduce bloating and inflammation, making it a valuable addition to your fertility journey.
Lastly, the episode emphasizes the interconnectedness of gut health and fertility, encouraging listeners to consider gut healing as a vital part of their journey. Whether you’re experiencing constipation, bloating, or diarrhea, addressing gut health can have a profound impact on your fertility and endometriosis management.
Tune in to this nice short and proactive episode for more insights and actionable advice on how these alternative therapies can enhance your fertility journey. Whether you’re new to these practices or looking to deepen your understanding, this episode offers valuable guidance and inspiration.

There isn’t much scientific research to support the benefits of these alternative treatments but this is not unsurprising. Like any alternative treatment – it is not a case of it does not work, it is that the research has not been done yet. Often this is due to no-one benefiting financially from the research being done. There is however lots of clinical evidence of the effectiveness – do be aware of this.
