Self care for me today is having a little break in our hammock on the balcony after a massage client and before nutrition study! My husband put this up yesterday (it’s long been in the cupboard) and I’m in love!! Not only with the colour (you might have noticed I love aquamarine / blues / greens 😍) but to have such a tranquil space to rest and take a contemplative 5 mins to breathe, read or meditate.
Self care is so important and is not indulgent but a must, especially for us women. We don’t tend to take enough time out to listen to our body and mind from our hectic day and putting others first. Self care can be anything from meditation, breathing, walking, knitting, reading, colouring, gardening. It’s just taking the time to slow down and be contemplative and quickly recharge your battery so you can then carry on and be the better version of yourself – meaning you are more use to your family, friends and work colleagues.
Try to get in 5-10 mins at least everyday. Preferably 30 mins! Please tell me what you have done recently, as it’s always good to know new ideas!
